Chartered Physiotherapist and Massage Therapist
I obtained my first degree in Biology in Italy where I lived for the first 20 years of my life. Then in 2005 I moved to Scotland to work in academic research at Dundee University.
Being interested in people well-being and rehabilitation, I started to focus my attention on manual therapies and I obtained a qualification in Swedish massage in 2008 and a year later in Sport massage therapy. As I became more involved and enthusiast in rehabilitation of sport injuries, mainly in amateur rugby players, I decided to leave academia and pursue a career in physiotherapy enrolling in Northumbria University and graduating with a MSc degree in 2012.
Since then I have been working full time in the NHS at Ninewells Hospital, first as a junior and then as senior physiotherapist. During those years I gained a broad clinical experience in a variety of setting, including musculo-skeletal/outpatient, trauma/orthopaedics, neurology and neurosurgery.
I have specialised and I am currently training in more specific areas of MSK physiotherapy, such as hand therapy, kinesio-taping, the McKenzie approach for spinal pathologies and in orthopaedic medicine for treatment of limb injuries.
Over the past year I have been working with Carla at Blairgowrie Physiotherapy greatly enjoying the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills to the very friendly and committed clients I have met so far.
On the personal level, being Italian, I am expected to be an amazing cook with high standards of baking skills and primi piatti. I also have broad range of outdoor interests, mainly sea-kayaking and climbing, but also cycling and running.
