Gordon Barrie MSc BSc (Hons) MCSP
In 2000 Gordon Qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Glasgow Caledonian University (MSc Rehabilitation Science), prior to that he obtained a BSc (Hons) Physiology and Sports Science from the University of Glasgow (1996).
After qualifying, Gordon worked for 7 years in the NHS in Lanarkshire, Tayside and Fife, gaining experience across a range of disciplines, ultimately specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
He has worked in Private Practice for the last 12 years, which includes 3 years as Physiotherapy Manager at Fernbrae and the last 6 years at a clinic in Dundee and the Sport Scotland Institute of Sport, and more recently at Dundee United FC Academy.
He has vast experience working with athletes from a variety of sports since qualifying, most recently at the SportScotland Institute of Sport and the University of St Andrews. This has included sports such as Running, Skiing, Hockey, Rugby, Swimming, Netball, Tennis, Football, Rowing, Kayaking, Martial arts, Volleyball, Water polo and Ultimate frisbee.
Gordon has also spent time working on and off the pitch with the footballers from Dundee United FC Academy.
Outside of work, running is his main interest. He is a member of Dundee Hawkhill Harriers and has been successful in representing Scotland at Master’s events on the Track and Cross Country.
